Hello!

My name is Josie Mackie and I am currently a third year student in the East Kootenay Teacher Education Program through the University of Victoria.

I was born and raised in Cranbrook, and am so happy to have moved back just over two years ago after spending three years living in Kamloops, going to school at Thompson Rivers University and playing on the Women’s Basketball team.

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I love spending time with and learning from children. Growing up, I remember playing “school” in my basement with my cousins, and always insisting I was the teacher. I could not be happier to be a part of EKTEP!

In my spare time, you can usually find me spending time with friends and family, riding my horses, outdoors, or coaching basketball.
