Hello!

My name is Josie Mackie and I am currently a second year student in the East Kootenay Teacher Education Program through the University of Victoria.

I was born and raised in Cranbrook, and am so happy to have moved back just over a year ago after spending three years living in Kamloops, going to school at Thompson Rivers University and playing on the Women’s Basketball team.

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I love spending time with and learning from children. Growing up, I remember playing “school” in my basement with my cousins, and always insisting I was the teacher. I could not be happier to be a part of EKTEP!

In my spare time, you can usually find me spending time with friends and family, riding my horses, outdoors, or coaching basketball.
