This week we had such a fun and amazing class, doing a drama debate on creating a bylaw to help protect the western painted turtles. It was so much fun to listen to all of my peers present their ideas and thoughts while in character.

AHA Moment

This would be such a a fun activity to bring into intermediate and up science classes. The debate could be focused on any current science topic (when I was in grade 6 we did a debate on the deer cull). It allows students an opportunity to research both their own side, the oppositions, and present their ideas to their peers. This simple activity could be cross-curricular for Science, Drama, and English Language Arts, depending on the topic you give students. I can’t wait to incorporate this into my own classroom one day!
