Graphic Creation
Creating graphics is a great way to link technology use to other curricular concepts. Graphics are a great way for students to demonstrate their learning. Throughout my own schooling, I created several graphics to show my learning, and they are great resources to look back on! Some of these graphics could even be used in my future classroom. Canva has tons of options, and can even be made to use worksheets, something that I am excited to utilize in the future.
I used Canva to create all of the graphics below!
In my future classroom, students can use technology and various platforms to display their learning of various concepts. I would suggest students use Canva, because it is user friendly and have countless templates to build off of.
There are several other sites to make graphics for free online. I look forward to exploring EdWordle to create word clouds. I have not yet used this platform but it would be a great tool to incorporate into the classroom.
Creating graphics in the classroom using the platforms above would be more beneficial and effective for intermediate students, as there is a lot of elements to use to create graphics. However, there are different ways that students can use technology to create graphics for younger grades. Create & Learn has several ideas of ways to incorporate graphic design into the classroom for younger kids. The idea they shared that particularly stood out to me was creating an electronic mood board. This site also has links to graphic design courses for kids.
Graphics and graphic design can be a powerful tool that I look forward to using and exploring throughout my educational and teaching journey!
